1954 Fiat Patriarca 1100 Sport

A rare opportunity to acquire a singular piece of Italian motorsport history — the 1954 Fiat Patriarca 1100 Sport, a one-off, hand-built race car conceived by renowned Roman constructor Rodolfo Patriarca, with coachwork by the legendary Pinin Farina.

Originally constructed in 1951 for gentleman racer Mario Ricci, this bespoke Barchetta-style vehicle was developed atop a Fiat 1100 chassis, its lightweight aluminum body tailored for domestic competition. Although an early mishap prematurely ended its initial campaign, the car was expertly rebuilt in 1954 by the distinguished Morelli brothers of Ferrara, who fitted it with a new 1.1L Fiat 1100/103 engine — launching it into a distinguished racing career.

Racing History Includes:

  • Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti

  • Giro di Sicilia

  • Stella Alpina

  • Palermo–Monte Pellegrino Hill Climb

  • Coppa Toscana

  • Transitioned to Formula Junior spec in 1958

  • Later competed in premier historic events such as the Gran Premio di Bari, Circuito delle Caldaie di Ascoli-Piceno, Gran Premio di Arezzo, and Circuito di Avezzano

Following its retirement, the car was discovered and restored to concours condition by Peppino Valerii, a noted Ferrari collector, with the restoration entrusted to Redline Restorations. The vehicle retains its original character while benefiting from expert craftsmanship and careful historical preservation.

Vehicle Highlights:

  • One-of-one Italian race car with documented provenance

  • Hand-formed aluminum “Tipo Barchetta” body on tubular frame

  • 1.1L Fiat 1100/103 engine

  • 4-speed manual transmission

  • No weather equipment; built purely for competition

  • Lightweight, minimalist design with period-correct instrumentation

  • Previously raced from 1954–1961 and re-entered historic competition in recent years

Historical Significance:
The Patriarca marque is a cornerstone of Italy’s post-war motorsport scene. Founded in 1933 by Rodolfo Patriarca, the firm produced racing machines for the country’s top talents, including Piero Taruffi, Luigi Musso, Salvatore Casella, and Maria Teresa de Filippis. Vehicles bearing the Patriarca name are extremely rare and seldom offered for public sale.

This is a collector-grade vehicle with exceptional provenance, ideal for discerning collectors, museums, or vintage competition entrants. Serious inquiries welcome. Please contact us directly for pricing, full documentation, and viewing arrangements.
